ENGLISH 1 - SECOND SEMESTER

LESSONS FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER WILL BEGIN ON TUESDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2024

All lessons are held in Edificio Marco Polo

• Tuesdays from 4pm to 6pm in classroom 104

• Fridays from 8am to 10am in classroom 102

Office hours are on Friday from 10am to 12pm in room 203.

ENG1 @ISO is 2-semester language course for all first-year ISO students in ‘Canale 1’ (Chinese, Japanese, Korean).

Dr Darcy Di Mona is the teacher for ENG 1 Canale 2 (Arabic, Hindi, Persian) students.

You need to pass our exam with an 18 (June, Sept, January and appelli straordinari) to take the Sociolinguistics exam with Prof. Gaballo.

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS ONLY FOR ISO (STUDI ORIENTALI ) STUDENTS:

If you have a B2 certificate for a Cambridge exam in the last two years, or IELTS or more Advanced CambrIdge exam (no expiry) you will not have to take this exam: please email a scanned copy of your certification at alexandra.smit@uniroma1.it.
Please name the file with your name and surname (i.e. Mario Rossi’s certification will be Mario Rossi.pdf)

We will be using a new textbook, VOICES, published in 2022 by Cengage/National Geographic, using English as a tool for global communication through carefully sequenced activities featuring real world content which will fully prepare you for interaction and guide you to develop your voice in English.
